How to apply for a PNP?

The process of applying for a PNP depends on which PNP stream you are planning to apply for. You may need to apply through an express entry or non-express entry process.

Applying for PNP through the non-express entry process

  • In the non-express entry process, you need to apply to the territory or province for nomination.

  • Fulfil the eligibility requirements of the province you are applying for

  • Passing the medical exam and getting the police clearance certificate is necessary.

  • If nominated, then apply for PR online.

Note: The time taken to apply for provincial nomination is longer compared to express entry.

Applying for PNP through the express entry program

There are 2 ways you can apply to a province or territory for Provincial nomination.

Method 1:

Contact the territory or province and apply for nomination under the express entry stream.

Follow the instructions on the respective official province websites to get nominated by the territory or province.

If you are nominated or any territory or province agrees to nominate you then create an express entry profile and update that you have been nominated in the EE profile.

Method 2:

  • Create an express entry profile and notify the territories and provinces that you are interested to work or apply.

  • If your profile is suitable any province may send a ‘notification of interest’ to your account. Then get in touch with them.

  • Apply to the province through their express entry stream

  •  If your profile gets nominated the province will send you a nomination certificate to your account and you must accept it electronically.

Note:

In both cases, you must meet the requirements of the respective province then create an EE profile and show them the eligibility criteria along with the nomination you received from the province.

If you received an ITA then submit an electronic application to Canada IRCC.
